you sure? I’m 80% certain dodge was using mercedes diesel engines, not VAG’s

EDIT: looked it up, you are correct, its a VW unit.

The Grand Cherokee, Commander 300C had various Merc V6 Diesels. The Wrangler and Cherokee (Liberty) meanwhile had a 2.8L VM Motori four. Yet the Avenger, Caliber, Sebring and Journey had a VAG TDI. I have no idea WHY because Mercedes did in fact make an engine with nearly identical specifications for transverse applications. My grandpa does in fact have an A200 CDI of the same model year, also a 6MT.
